According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2012, Harvard University (USA) is topping the list of the best universities in the world. Five Finnish universities are also listed among the best 500.
University of Helsinki is 73rd followed by University of Oulu and University of Turku (301-400), and University of Eastern Finland and University of Jyväskylä (401-500).
University of Helsinki is among the best 100 universities in categories Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy, and Life and Agriculture Sciences, and among the best 200 institutions in Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
University of Eastern Finland and University of Oulu are among the best 150 institutions in Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy. University of Turku is among the best 200 in Life and Agriculture Sciences.
Aalto University is listed among the best 150 institutions in Computer science and Economics. In the category of Engineering / Technology and Computer Sciences it is among the 200 best universities.
