Accessibility

The Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) is committed to making its digital services accessible, in accordance with the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services 306/2019 (from now on referred to as “the Finnish Act”).

This accessibility statement applies to the Study in Finland service (studyinfinland.fi), from now on referred to as “the service”.

Compliance status

The service is not compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards (from now on referred to as “the Standards”), due to the shortcomings listed below.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

  • Non-compliance with the Finnish Act: we are committed to addressing the non-compliances by the end of 2022​.
    The accessibility statement will be updated as the identified issues are resolved.

Non-compliance

All or most pages

Navigation (default page template; for example, studyinfinland.fi)

  • Navigation links sometimes partially cover each other's focus highlights [2.4.7. Focus visible].
  • If the navigation menu is closed, it cannot be opened with a keyboard [2.1.1. Keyboard, 2.1.3. Keyboard (no exception), 2.4.5. Multiple ways].
  • Navigation links are part of the focus order even when the navigation menu is closed [1.3.1. Info and relationships, 2.1.1. Keyboard, 2.1.3. Keyboard (no exception)].

Contact page

  • Required fields are marked with an asterisk, but there is no explicit information about it [3.3.2. Labels or instructions, 3.3.1. Error identification].

Future is Made in Finland pages

  • There are unnecessary headings [1.3.1. Info and relationships].
  • There is unhelpful visually hidden text ("name") before each link to a file [2.4.6. Headings and labels].

PDF documents

  • Some documents are not tagged [1.3.1. Info and relationships].
  • Some documents have no title [2.4.2. Page titled].
