During the application rounds completed earlier this year, the Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences (UAS) received more than 50,000 applications from international students for degree studies starting in autumn 2022, which is about 37% more than last year. Of these, more than 24,600 applied in the January 2022 joint application round, and the rest through other admission routes, for example separate applications.

Prospective students from all over the world sent in applications, the largest amount of them arriving from Nigeria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Nepal.

Most of the student selection results have now been published – and while some late results may still be pending, we’re glad to report that already over 11,000 international students have been offered a study place in bachelors and masters degree studies in Finland.

If you are among those admitted – congratulations!

Remember to confirm your study place in time according to the instructions given by your new Finnish home university or UAS.

If you have not yet started your student residence permit process, do that as quickly as possible. It is important to prepare you residence permit application carefully, following the instructions on the Migri website. You might benefit from watching the recording of the Migri webinar on student residence permits 5 May 2022.
