CWUR (Center for World University Rankings) has been publishing their academic ranking of global universities since 2012. The CWUR ranking assesses higher education institutions based on the quality of education, employability, quality of faculty, and research.
For the 2025 edition, CWUR ranked almost 21,500 institutions.
Finnish universities were featured on the Global 2000 list as follows:

- University of Turku #394 (top 1.9%)
- Tampere University #437 (top 2.1%)
- University of Oulu #464 (top 2.2%)
- University of Eastern Finland #506 (top 2.4%)
- University of Jyväskylä #632 (top 3.0%)
- LUT University #993 (top 4.7%)
- Ã…bo Akademi University #1158 (top 5.4%)
- Hanken School of Economics #1664 (top 7.8%)
