Over 1,500 of the world's top universities are included in the 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings, with over 100 locations represented around the world.
The QS World University Rankings evaluate universities based on various criteria, such as academic reputation, employability and outcomes, learning experience, and the number of international students.
In the 2026 edition, Finnish universities were ranked in the top third of all ranked institutions as follows:

- University of Helsinki #116
- University of Oulu #342
- University of Turku #366
- Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT #397
- Tampere University #423
- University of Jyväskylä #498
- University of Eastern Finland #604
- Ã…bo Akademi University #643
