Great news for Finland! Seven Finnish universities have secured a place in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2026, one of the world's most recognised university rankings.
This year, three Finnish universities climbed higher in the rankings, highlighting the strong quality of Finnish higher education.
The University of Helsinki remains Finland's highest-ranked institution, placing among the world's top 150 universities. Meanwhile, the University of Turku, University of Eastern Finland, and University of Jyväskylä all improved their positions compared to last year's ranking.
Every year, ARWU evaluates more than 2,500 universities worldwide, with the top 1,000 institutions making the published ranking.
