Finnish higher education institutions have over 20 000 international students studying in several locations around the country. Our 13 universities and 22 universities of applied sciences (UAS) offer almost 600 bachelor's and master's degree programmes taught in English.

Universities of applied sciences (UAS) offer professionally oriented higher education on bachelor's and master's level, and have strong ties with working life and regional development. All UAS bachelor's degrees include a practical training period, and UAS master's are specifically targeted to those already in the working life. The main emphasis of research, development and innovation at universities of applied sciences is on applied research and development.
