Finnish universities succeed in THE 2022 Impact Rankings

The Times Higher Education Impact Ranking assesses universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to an overall ranking table, the THE Impact Ranking looks at each of the 17 SDGs separately. Finnish higher education institutions want to support students suffering from the war by offering the possibility to apply for a separate study right for those whose studies in a Ukrainian university have been interrupted. Open Universities are also offering Ukrainian citizens the possibility to take courses free-of-charge. Finnish Universities in QS Subject Rankings 2022

In the annual QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022, six Finnish universities made it to top 50 in several subjects Aalto University Tampere University University of the Arts Helsinki (Sibelius Academy) University of Helsinki University of Turku Of these, the highest subject-specific positions this year go to Aalto University in Arts & Design (#6), Tampere University in Library & Information Management (#12), University of Helsinki in Theology and Religious Studies (#20) and Education and Training (#21), Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki in Performing Arts (#22)

Three Finnish universities featured in 2022 THE Young Universities Rankings

The Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings list the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger. Aalto University again features in the 2022 ranking near the top at #30, while Tampere University, established in 2019 as a merger between the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology, proudly appears on a shared slot at #34.
